Letter from our Treasurer
Membership is annual and follows an academic year (renew every Fall). Band membership alone is $150 annually. Becoming a member of the band includes membership in Bev’s flute choir.
If you wish to become an Odd Fellow, we split the difference in that $70 would be paid to the Band and the remaining $80 to Odd Fellows. Those who wish to become Odd Fellows should contact Julie Machado at juliemac@pacbell.net .
As your Treasurer, I am able to process checks, cash, or cards during rehearsals. We use a Square card reader. You may “self check-out” using the links to our Square page below. Square services, whether online or card reader, include a 3.45% fee. Go here to self check-out: Click Here
If you want a new band polo shirt, a sheet will be shared for you to indicate your size at the next rehearsal. The board asks for a donation of $30 to offset the purchase of the shirt. The shirts will be produced locally by a business in San Leandro. Partial Dues and Donations page: Click Here. (Note that check or cash payments do not have extra fees since they do not involve Square.)
There is a Dues Relief Application in circumstances of hardship: Click Here
Lately, past dues and donations have covered a variety of operational expenses as an independent ensemble. Most recently, the cost of the band’s insurance policy, now ASCAP licensing, equipment purchases to include some percussion, and payment for the multiple musicians that join us as “concert help” per event.
That being said… do consider bringing a friend along to join the band! Increased regular membership would greatly add to our group musically, socially, and economically. Maybe even a carpool opportunity!
Sincerely,
Melanie Work
